Visual Studio 2010 Shell (Integrated)

The Visual Studio Shell (integrated mode) provides the foundation on which you can seamlessly integrate tools and programming languages within Visual Studio. The Visual Studio Shell (integrated mode) does not contain any programming language, so it provides the perfect foundation to deploy a development environment for your own language. The Visual Studio Shell (integrated mode) seamlessly integrates with Visual Studio 2010 Professional and above. Any tools and programming languages that run inside the Visual Studio Shell (integrated mode) will run together with Visual Studio 2010 if they are also installed on the same machine. By using the Visual Studio Shell (integrated mode), you will not need to make Visual Studio a pre-requisite on your user machines.
This download contains the redistributable runtime binaries that you can distribute with your Visual Studio tools and programming languages. For development and testing of your Visual Studio tools and programming languages, please download the Visual Studio 2010 SDK.

SharePoint 2010 Resources

SharePoint 2010 Web site.

This is the “all-up” site for SharePoint 2010, and therefore should be your one-stop shop for new information. One thing to note, check out the upper right-hand corner of the home page; this site is running on SharePoint 2010 beta. Yes, you heard me…well you read me anyway; it is running on SP2010 beta. What do you think about that level of confidence! Also, make sure to install the Silverlight v3 player. That’s right, we are up to v3 and getting better and more powerful with each version.

SharePoint 2010 NDA Secrets Revealed at #SPC09

I’ve been held to NDA for the past couple of years. What a relief and joy it is to be able to speak openly about the great innovations in SharePoint 2010. This list is a mix and match of what I consider the big announcements, I’m sure this list could grow tons if it was taken at a feature by feature level for SharePoint 2010 new features, but I’ve tried to group these by what I consider investment areas that pay off and help justify both playing with the public beta and justify upgrading when you have the chance. There are a lot of others who are making their lists… here’s Ketaahns SharePoint 14 list. (I found this link after I was done, and it’s amazing how close the lists are…)

If you missed the Keynote or missed SPC all together, the first thing I ask you to do is to step through these videos which include the SPC09 keynotes as well as SharePoint 2010 customer highlights and SPC opening video.
