Using these extensions you will be able to find relevant information from your SharePoint environments without leaving Visual Studio. You will have greater productivity while developing SharePoint components and you will have greater deployment capabilities on your local SharePoint installation.

Community Kit for SharePoint (CKS)
The new vision for the Community Kit for SharePoint (CKS) is one of a long-term, community-driven project that exists alongside the official product releases from Microsoft, exploring and extending the functionality of the product while at the same time providing a set of sample applications, best practices, and reusable modules that extend and support the SharePoint community and ecosystem. Our ultimate goal is to be a primary driver and supporter of the SharePoint community as it evolves over the years.

The Community Kit for SharePoint is looking forward towards SharePoint 2010. While details cannot be released until after the 2009 SharePoint Conference, rest assured that we have a lot of exciting things under way. Stay tuned for more details in October!
